Imagination Bootcamp: Mending

What to expect:

This 90-minute workshop at the Folger Shakespeare Library invites adults to stretch their imaginations together. Through close looking, creative exercises, movement, and playful prompts, we'll explore the theme of mending: what becomes possible when we turn our imagination toward the many shapes care and repair can take.

No physical exercise involved, just a serious workout for your imagination.

📍 Folger Shakespeare Library: We will meet outside of the museum and then enter together.

Note: This workshop is not produced by the Folger Shakespeare Library, but we have permission to use their spaces.

What is Imagination Boot Camp?

Imagination Boot Camp is an experiential workshop series that treats imagination as a muscle—one that strengthens through practice and grows more powerful in community. We create space for people to exercise their imaginative capacity together: to question assumptions, envision alternatives, and discover that the future is something we can actively shape. Imagination Bootcamp is designed for people who are feeling the weight of what's happening in the world (injustice, cruelty, uncertainty, powerlessness) and want to practice imagining something different, together.

🌀 Looking for a family-friendly version? Check out Imagination Boot Camp: Togetherness (for kids & their adults) at Lincoln Park on March 23.

Who this is for:

Adults who want to slow down, think differently, and explore big questions in good company. No background in art, museums, Shakespeare, or creative practice required—only a willingness to show up and imagine.

This workshop is open to all. If there's something that we can offer to make this more welcoming, we would love to talk to you. Please email us at isabella@radicalmuseumfutures.com

What you'll gain:

A fresh relationship with your own imaginative capacity. Concrete practices for noticing, questioning, and envisioning around the themes of repair, care, and mending—and the reminder that imagination, shared, makes for fast company.

Who is leading it:

This workshop is led by Isabella Bruno and Marina Gross-Hoy, two museum experience facilitators who believe that imagination is a skill everyone deserves to practice.
